Virginia Ann Holt
Virginia Ann Holt is a painter and silk artist whose tagline is "“Art that uplifts and colors the soul.” Her paintings are world-renowned for their excellence and beauty and her silk paintings have evolved into not only vibrant textiles, but elegant wearable art as well.
Having mastered transferring her signature poppies and other florals to silk painting, Virginia has recently released a line of hand painted silk scarves, and other uniquely fashionable art. Additionally, as a classically trained artist, Virginia has actively renovated century-old buildings recreating their previous glory. She has created Venetian plaster and faux finishes designing
columns and alters to enhance the building’s existing architecture.
As demonstrated by her colorful floral paintings, she is well known for her gardening, 60+varieties of rose bushes, San Diego Fair Horticulture Shows and Del Mar Rose Society shows; Virginia has grown first place award winners, such as Marilyn Monroe and Mr. Lincoln specimens.
Her many charitable endeavors include the annual Artists in the Garden Mother’s Day Tour fundraiser, benefiting the Off Track Gallery located in the Lumberyard in Encinitas. San Diego Museum of Art annual ArtAlive has included Virginia’s realistic faux finishes on large garden urns featured prominently in their Alhambra Gardens showcase.
An avid Jazzerciser, Virginia can be found working out, gardening, or walking her dogs with her family.
