Jen Crenshaw
Jen Crenshaw is a professional artist specializing in gouache and watercolor paintings of nature and wildlife.
Even as a young child growing up in Ramona, Jen always aspired to be an artist. Her parents encouraged her creativity: Her Dad taught her everything he knew about photography and her Mom fostered an early interest in watercolor painting. She continued studying art in college, earning her BA in Fine Art from Cal State Stanislaus, with a concentration in relief printmaking. During her studies, she focused on wood cuts primarily while also learning techniques in painting, drawing, and sculpture.
Jen is inspired by nature and enjoys painting the beauty that surrounds us. She is intrigued by the contrasting colors and textures found in nature and also in weathered items that tell a story. Imbued with a profound love of animals, her passion is painting wildlife. Her work is enhanced by her twenty years as a professional photographer, as she often uses her nature photography as references in her paintings.
