Julia Willhite
In Memoriam
Born in Russia and raised in Turkey, Austria, Italy, Caribbean & the USA, Julia Ivanovna Willhite was a beautiful spirit, a dedicated Yogi, and a quintessential world traveler. She first learned to crochet as a child while living in Turkey. Later in life, Julia discovered a meditative connection between her personal Yoga practice and the crocheting of yarn mandalas (geometric figures representing the universe in Buddhist and Hindu symbolism). Julia’s creative inspiration came from a lifetime of experiencing many wonderful cultures around the world. Her international photography collection was a reflection of her many exotic destinations. During the last chapter of her life, Julia pursued sustainable lifestyle gardening and animal husbandry while living on a ranch with her husband where they raised peacocks, llamas, sheep, goats, turkeys, and chickens. She was a charter member of Warner Springs Artisans Guild and is deeply missed.
