Monica Rue
Monica Rue is a multi-media artist specializing in fiber arts. Inspired by nature and life experiences, she channels her creative energy into all aspects of the fiber arts. Beginning with hand dyeing and hand spinning the elements of her original designs, Monica excels in hand-knitting one-of-a-kind pieces, in abstract embroidery, in tatting intricate designs with an antique shuttle, and in sewing sewing exceptional quilts on her self-restored vintage sewing machines.
Originally tutored by her mother -- a master seamstress whose hand beadwork is unmatched -- Monica continued to hone her skills and develop her own unique style throughout her teen, college, and adult years. Her work is imbued with love and embodies her motto, “Big or small, all will be covered in love.”
Monica continues the tradition of her mother and other teachers by passing her skills and knowledge to students ranging from elementary school to university level.
