Anne Garcia
Anne Garcia is a fiber artist. She discovered textiles when she learned to embroidery as a young child, and to sew at age 12. She quickly developed a love of making cloth into clothing. As a young woman, she expanded her interest in textiles to include the fiber arts of spinning and weaving. A dozen years ago, she began her journey anew in these ancient arts and is always excited to explore new territory.
Anne celebrates the joy of using color and texture in weaving and spinning, incorporating those design elements into her wearable fiber art. Creating cloth from wool, cotton, alpaca and other fibers is a time-consuming and eternally creative process! Anne is very grateful to spin the wheel and throw the shuttle.
Anne’s designs may be found at the Julian Weaving Works in Santa Ysabel. She participates in local art exhibits including the Ramona Art and Wine Festival.
